While an orchiectomy can remove the testicles while leaving the scrotal sac intact (which enables it to be used in the construction of female genitals, if desired), not all patients wish to undergo this gender surgery. We offer another option, which involves the removal of both testicles and the scrotal sac as well, known as the scrotectomy.

This non-standard gender surgery can be recommended for patients who aren’t interested in undergoing vaginoplasty or vulvoplasty, which are frequently completed using tissues from the scrotum. Worth noting is that, even when a scrotectomy has been performed, skin grafts from other areas of the body can be used to construct a fully-functioning vulva, and penile tissues can also aid in this process.
