Align Surgical Associates (Align Surgical) announces the opening of its new office in Santa Monica, with surgeons specializing in gender-affirming facial, top and genital surgical procedures. Align Surgical’s Los Angeles practice will serve patients from across Southern California and beyond.
Dr. Satterwhite, Dr. Pang and Dr. Gurjala will speak as panelists in the upcoming annual meeting of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Satterwhite and Dr. Pang will participate in the panel “Gender-Affirming Penile Inversion Vaginoplasty as an Outpatient Procedure,” and Dr. Gurjala will serve as a panelist in “How to Launch into a New Practice – Real-World Pearls, Strategy and Challenges.” Dr. Satterwhite will also moderate the “Gender Affirming Surgery (Criteria, Medical Preparation, Controversies)” panel.
Dr. Satterwhite will speak at Gender Institute’s First Annual Gen I Symposium, discussing “Facial Feminization: Pre- and Post-Operative Care.” Gender Institute designed this medical symposium to gather experts, practitioners, healthcare administrators, and community stakeholders from various fields to share knowledge, best practices, and research related to gender-affirming care to improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Satterwhite and Dr. Gurjala will discuss surgical complications in gender-affirming care at the upcoming annual UCSF Transgender Pre-conference. Both Dr. Satterwhite and Dr. Gurjala are honored to be invited to share their knowledge at this national conference, which precedes the 2023 UCSF Transgender Health Summit. The pre-conference offers training to providers who serve the transgender community and focuses on reducing barriers to care.
Dr. Satterwhite will participate in two panels at the upcoming Live Surgery Conference for Gender Affirmation Procedures alongside world-renowned leaders in gender-affirming care. On May 12, he will sit on a panel of doctors discussing vaginoplasty, and on May 13, he will serve as a panelist for the topic of chest and breast surgery. This prestigious conference, coordinated by WPATH, will provide educational and hands-on experience to surgeons specializing in gender-affirming care.
Dr. Satterwhite will be speaking at the Upcoming American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM) conference as part of the panel on “Managing Complications in Gender-Affirmation Surgery.” He will be specifically discussing vaginoplasty complications and was invited as a faculty member on this esteemed panel.
We have the honor of presenting our research entitled "Role Of Allogeneic Placental Tissues In Penile Inversion Vaginoplasty” and "Predictors Of Unplanned Reoperation Following Chest Masculinization Surgery: An Analysis Of 2317 Patients" at the Plastic Surgery Research Council (PSRC) which is an esteemed and highly-regarded conference.
This is hosted by Plastic and Aesthetic Research and Dr. Satterwhite will cover the topic of "Optimizing aesthetics in penile-inversion vaginoplasty: considerations, outcomes, and patient satisfaction in primary and revision procedures."
An Evening of Queer Joy centers the intersectional queer experience on the full spectrum of pain to joy by creating immersive community spaces, opportunities for authentic expression, and an environment of reflective learning. We aim to increase a sense of community amid isolation at Stanford and beyond.
Dr. Satterwhite will be joining the Department of Surgery Grand Rounds in LKSC130 and via Zoom on March 15. 2022 at 7am. The topic Dr. Satterwhite will discuss is "Being a Gender Affirmation Surgeon: A Personal and Professional Perspective" and this will be for students of the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Both Dr. Thomas Satterwhite and Dr. Angela Rodriguez are part of a panel of experienced surgical providers discussing pursuing surgical congruence measures based on their experience working with those undergoing gender affirmation surgery.
Dr. Thomas Satterwhite and Dr. Angela Rodriguez will both be speaking virtually at the UCSF Fresno Health Equity Symposium talking about surgical procedures.
Dr. Rodriguez will be doing two presentations with Genderevolution on November 13th.
From 10:15am to 11:15am, Dr. Rodriguez will present on Feminizing the Face. She will discuss facial feminization surgery in detail and will illustrate results with pictures and examples from her own patients.

Dr. Dev Gujala will be one of the speakers at the Operation Diversify Plastic Surgery conference. He will be presenting on "Engineering, Research and Gender Surgery" at 4:00pm PST on November 4th.
Dr. Dev Gurjala will be speaking at the upcoming ISSVD Conference on September 24th and will be speaking from 1pm-3pm on the topic of Vulvovaginal care in gender-affirming vaginoplasty.
Dr. Thomas Satterwhite will be one of the panelists participating in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) discussion on facial feminization.
In collaboration with Transfamily Support Services, Dr. Dev Gurjala will be speaking on September 11th about Transmasculine Surgical Options: Phalloplasty, Metoidioplasty, Top Surgery, and Body Contouring. He will discuss preoperative preparation, intra-operative techniques, and what to expect during the post-operative recovery, such as wound care, timeline till full healing, complications, and patient satisfaction.
In collaboration with Transfamily Support Services, Dr. Thomas Satterwhite will be speaking on September 18 about Transfeminine Surgical Options: Vaginoplasty, Facial Feminization, Breast Augmentation, and Body Feminization/Contouring. His goal is to provide relevant information so that patients and their caretakers know what they need to do to prepare for gender affirming operations, and what to expect post-operatively, so that they can have a smooth, safe journey.
Gender Health SF is hosting an educational event with Dr. Thomas Satterwhite on October 23, 2019 from 5–8PM. Dr. Satterwhite will be discussing Vaginoplasty as well as Body Feminization for Transfeminine spectrum patients seeking gender affirming surgery.
