Dr. Danny Young-Afat is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Amsterdam University Medical Center, specialized in breast and genital reconstructions. He is also a clinical epidemiologist and academic researcher with a focus on patient-centered outcome evaluation. He has been involved in improving, developing and implementing multiple patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), including BREAST-Q (computerized adaptive testing version), FACE-Q (head and neck cancer module) and GENDER-Q.
In his role as Research Director at Align Surgical, Dr. Young-Afat aims to assess outcomes from the patients’ perspective, helping clinicians offer the best possible surgical options based on needs and desires of each individual.
